
Brahmas Add Defenseman Casey Russell For 2009-2010

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (June 2)- The Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League added their first rookie for the 2009-10 season as they signed defenseman Casey Russell.
Russell played for the Falcons at Bentley University in Massachusetts for four seasons notching 46 points (9 G, 37 A) in 125 games. The 6-foot-1 defenseman recorded the second most points among the Falcon's blueliners with 14 assists last season. Russell's defensive play catapulted the Falcons to a 19-17-2 record in his senior year.
Prior to playing NCAA Division I hockey, the 24 year old played 95 games in two seasons in Juniors. Russell played with the Des Moines Buccaneers for the 2002-03 season and the Youngstown Phantoms and Waterloo Blackhawks in 2003-04.
The Orange, CT native has special ties to the Brahmas as his older brother, Matt Burto, won the CHL Championship with the Texas Brahmas last season.
