
Brad Kunz signs with BlueCats

EVANSVILLE, IN: The Evansville BlueCats are pleased to announce the signing of lineman Brad Kunz from the University of Miami. Kunz is originally from Carlyle, Illinois, and joins the BlueCats after a four-year career on the offensive line of the Miami Hurricanes.
Kunz played at Miami from 2000-2004 after redshirting as a freshman in 1999. During his time at Miami, Kunz saw action at offensive tackle and guard. He played in all four BCS Bowl games during his college career, highlighted by the 2002 Rose Bowl where Kunz and his Miami teammates defeated Nebraska 37-14 to win the National Championship.
Brad Kunz said, "Each of the bowl games was a thrill and I enjoyed each experience, but the Rose Bowl was definitely my favorite."
He won the strength and conditioning athlete of the year award at Miami. Past winners of this award include Jon Vilma, Matt Walters, and Reggie Wayne.
He majored in History and English at Miami and also earned a minor in Education. He received his degree in August.
In high school, Kunz played for Carlyle High School in southern Illinois. He earned All-State honorable mention honors as a senior and was voted to the All-South team by the Illinois Coaches Association in both his junior and senior seasons.
He also played basketball in high school and helped his team to a Regional Championship in 2000.
Brad Kunz said, "I'm really excited and can't wait to get to Evansville and get to work. I want to thank God for the opportunity to play for the BlueCats."
