
Boyle Wins Week 10 MLL Weekly Honors

Philadelphia, PA (August 1, 2006) - In the 22-11 win over Baltimore, Philadelphia attackman Ryan Boyle wins the Offensive Player of the Week for Week 10 MLL action for his performance in the game. Boyle recorded nine points (5G, 2A) and he collected one ground ball. Boyle earned his first assist to end the first quarter and came alive in the second half scoring four of his five goals in the third quarter alone, along with three assists and netting his final goal in the fourth quarter. He was named Bud Light MVP of the game for his performance, for the third time this season, he was MVP for the May 20 game against Rochester and May 27 game against Los Angeles for recording eight points (2G, 6A) in each game. This is also his second MLL honor; he was named Offensive Player of the Week in Week One for his eight-point game against Rochester.
"Ryan is the playmaker on the team," said head coach, Tony Resch. "It's great to have him back in the game and healthy after losing him so early on in the season with a shoulder injury. He made his return to the game known against Baltimore."
Boyle is currently second on the Barrage with 32 total points (12G, 20A), trailing Roy Colsey who has 36 total points (21G, 4 2ptG, 11A). In the MLL, Boyle is third overall with assists (20) and is tied for 12th for overall points.
Philadelphia begins their final two-game road trip of the regular season with their first stop in Rochester against the Rattlers on August 8. Face off is set for 2:00p.m. at Paetec Park. The Barrage will make their final stop in Baltimore against the Bayhawks on August 12 at Johnny Unitas Stadium. Face off is set for 7:00 p.m. The 2006 MLL Championship Weekend begins August 25 at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles, CA. Philadelphia, Denver and Boston have all clinched playoff spots.
