
Bouchard Makes Minor League History

ROCHESTER, MI--- Muskegon's Robin Bouchard netted his 683rd career goal to become the all-time minor league goal scoring leader Sunday in front of 3,980 Lumberjack fans. He scored his third hat trick of the season Saturday in Fort Wayne to tie the record at 682. Sunday, he tipped in a Nick Schneider shot to set the record on home ice. Muskegon ended up winning the contest 5-2. Bouchard currently leads the IHL in goals scored with 56, with 17 of those coming on the Lumberjacks power play.
The Fort Wayne Komets clinched their 50th post-season spot in franchise history, and their 43rd as a member of the IHL, after winning three out of four games this past week. They reached the 40-win mark for the eight consecutive season with a win over Quad City Friday. The Komets have won 12 of their last 15 games, moving within six points of first-place Muskegon (91 points) in the chase for the Huber Trophy.
The goaltending tandem of Nick Boucher and Tim Haun has been stellar between the pipes for the Komets. Haun is currently ranked first among IHL goaltenders in goals against average with a 2.16 average, while team mate Boucher is second with a 2.44 average. Both netminders are tied for the league-lead in save percentage with a.922 percentage. After Boucher made a 44-save shutout of Dayton Sunday, the duo has a total of five shutouts, with Haun having three and Boucher having two.
Icehawks rookie forward Mickael Bedard continues to dominate the IHL rookies, leading in goals (32), assists (34), points (66), power play goals (11) and plus/minus rating (+26). He is the only rookie averaging at least a point a game, having scored 66 points in 64 games so far this season.

Bloomington PrairieThunder (1-2-0-0)- Forward Brett Holmberg has scored a goal in six straight games, the longest streak by a PrairieThunder player this season, and has scored nine points during that stretch. When the PrairieThunder defeated Muskegon, 4-1, on Wednesday, it set a record for most wins at home in a season with 18. Bloomington has a 22-10-0-2 record against the three teams behind it in the standings - Quad City,Flint and Dayton - and a6-17-3-3 record against the three teams ahead of it. The PrairieThunder has 13 games remaining with five against the lower teams. Matt Woodard has scored two goals with four assists for six points since joining the team six games ago. The last two weeks the PrairieThunder has been without seven regulars because of injuries or call-ups.
Dayton Gems (0-2-0-0)- The Gems will play five games in five days this week, looking to rebound from a 0-2-0-0 week 23. On Sunday evening the Gems welcomed nearly 300 scouts and their families to Hara Arena. They came to enjoy an evening of hockey and to honor the packs for their successful "Scouting for Food" canned good drive. The Gems will be presenting a donation to the Miami Valley Boy Scouts counsel for their efforts to continue helping the community. Whenever the Gems have had the lead after the second period they become an almost unstoppable force. On home ice, the Gems have won 11 games, including one in overtime, when they head into the third with the lead. On the road, they have only lost once making their record 17-1-1-0 in leading after the second period.
Flint Generals (2-1-0-0)- The Generals are keeping pace, looking to grab the fourth and final playoff spot from the Bloomington PrairieThunder. Flint sits just five points behind Bloomington for the final 2010 Turner Cup Playoff spot. They won two of their three games this past week, earning four points. Flint beat the Quad City Mallards 2-1 Wednesday, then took care of the fourth-place PrairieThunder, earning a 6-1 victory. Forward John Ronan recorded his first hat trick of the season in Friday's 6-1 win over Bloomington. He is the third General to record a hat trick this season (Mori, Rheaume). Goaltender Sergei Zvyagin returned to the Quad Cities, where he played for the Mallards during the 1995-96 season and 1996-97 season. He earned the win, allowing only one goal against, making a total of 29 saves.
Fort Wayne Komets (3-1-0-0)- Nick Boucher celebrated his 100th Fort Wayne career game Wednesday with a 4-3 win over the visiting Port Huron Icehawks. Colin Chaulk registered his 400th Fort Wayne career point (assist) in the Komets' 5-3 home win Friday against Quad City. Matt Syroczynski scored his 100th pro goal Saturday against Muskegon. Goaltender Nick Boucher has won six straight road games. Konstantin Shafranov (LW) has a three-game point streak (2 g, 3 a). Colin Chaulk (C) is riding a three-game point and assist scoring streak (3 g, 4 a). The Komets raised over $9,000 for the Indiana National Guard Relief Fund in an auction of their Army Jerseys worn Saturday night against Quad City.The Komets' Army Camo-Jerseys were sold in a silent auction with Guy Dupuis' sweater yielding the most at $1,222.00.
Muskegon Lumberjacks (2-1-0-0)- In their last five starts, the Lumberjacks have posted a record of 4-1-0-0 following their longest losing spell of the season at four consecutively. The Lumberjacks 27 home wins this season are three more than they garnered all last least at 24. Muskegon continues to flourish on Sunday with a record of 10-1-0-1 overall, 7-1-0-0 at home and 3-0-0-1 on the road. Todd Robinson (98) is two points away from his sixth 100 point season and his fifth with Muskegon. Robin Bouchard's 56 goals are 21 more than all of the IHL. In their last 15 games, the `Jacks have clicked offensively to the tune of 70 goals for, for a goals for average of 4.67. In four-on-four situations this season,
Muskegon has outscored the opposition 8-1.
Port Huron Icehawks (2-1-0-0)- All three Icehawks games this week will take place away from home when they travel to Dayton Friday before a pair of games in Bloomington Saturday and Sunday. Port Huron is 16-12-0-4 on the road this season, and has lost three of their last four games away from McMorran Arena. Mike Kinnie was extremely successful in his first week back from injury. The right winger earned his second hat trick of the 2009-10 season Saturday against his former team, the Flint Generals. That night was also his first four-point game with the Icehawks. Derek Patrosso had a goal and two assists this week to improve his point streak to a team-best 11 games. The forward has at least one point in every game since February 26, scoring five goals and ten assists during the streak.
Quad City Mallards (1-3-0-0)- With an assist yesterday against Muskegon, Patrick Levesque (29-31-60) reached 60 points for the season- nearly double his previous single season career high (31) for points. The Mallards enjoyed a rare 6-on-3 advantage in Friday night's game against Fort Wayne. They went up three men after a pair of Fort Wayne penalties and the Mallards then pulled goalie Kyle Jones in favor of a sixth attacker. Juris Stals scored while Mallards were up three men at 16:14 of the third period. Obi Aduba scored the first of his two goals on the night just 23 seconds into Friday's game at Fort Wayne. The Mallards have scored in the first minute of three different games against the Komets this season. Marc Rechlicz scored his first career goal- on the power play- with 1:12 left in yesterday's game at Muskegon.
