Boston Cannons Announce Fan Activities For Thursday's Home Game

BOSTON, MA - Tuesday, June 17, 2008 - The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) today announced the fan activities scheduled for the third home game of their 2008 schedule against the Washington Bayhawks, set for Thursday, June 19 at 7:30 PM at Harvard Stadium, according to Cannons Vice President and General Manager Mark Kastrud.
As part of Thursday night's festivities, WBCN 104.1 FM will entertain fans with a local band on the WBCN Stage in the Cannons Fan Zone courtyard area, Roche Bros. will be on hand in the Cannons Fan Zone, the Cannons will give away the third sheet of the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Cannons trading card set, Qdoba will offer their Qdoba 16 Goal Bonanza promotion during the game and the Cannons will host a post-game party at Tommy Doyle's Irish Pub and Restaurant in Harvard Square, with a special performance by Mikey Powell and the Villains Trust.
Prior to start of game, WBCN 104.1 will bring a Boston-area band to perform from approximately 5:30 - 7:30 PM on the WBCN Stage in the Cannons Fan Zone courtyard area, between the Murr Center and Bright Hockey Center. Also in the Cannons Fan Zone courtyard, Roche Bros. will be hosting a "Make Your Own Poster" event for fans to participate in.
The first 2,000 fans in attendance on Thursday night will receive the third of seven Cannons player trading card sets. One sheet will be given out at each of the Cannons' seven home games this season. The third sheet of four Cannons trading cards features midfielders Ben DeFelice, Kevin Dougherty, Chris Mucciolo and attackman Ryan Danehy.
If the Cannons score 16 goals or more, Qdoba will give free chips and queso to all Cannons fans who show their ticket stub at participating Qdoba restaurants as part of the Qdoba 16 Goal Bonanza.
Following Thursday night's game, fans are invited to meet their favorite members of the Cannons at Tommy Doyle's Irish Pub and Restaurant in Harvard Square (96 Winthrop Street, Cambridge, MA, 617-864-0655) during the team's post-game party. Cannons attackman Mikey Powell is scheduled to perform with his band, Mikey Powell and the Villains Trust, beginning at approximately 10:30 PM, upstairs at Tommy Doyle's.
The Cannons will return home for their next game when they face-off against the Washington Bayhawks at Harvard Stadium on Thursday, June 19 at 7:30 PM. The game will air live on ESPN2 as the MLL Game of the Week.
