Bombers Outfielder Landon Curry Name Prospect League Player of the Week
June 12, 2012 - Prospect League (Prospect)
Dubois County Bombers News Release
The Dubois County Bombers enter the third week of the 2012 season in first place with a 10-2 record, and a big reason for this has been the play of late arrival Landon Curry.
The freshman from Indiana State reported before the Bombers' seventh game and was immediately inserted into the top spot in the Dubois County batting order as well as left field; he has remained in both spots for the last six games, and there seems little reason to remove him.
All Curry has done is pick up 13 hits in 24 at bats (.542 average) with two doubles and nine RBI. He has also walked twice and been hit by a pitch three times while only striking out three times.
Couple Curry's on-base percentage with his stolen base success - he's 8-for-8 on stolen base attempts, and those eight swiped bags lead the Bombers and are good for second in the league - and you understand what an impressive cog Curry has been at the top of the Dubois County lineup.
The Bombers host the Springfield Sliders Wednesday night at 7:15 p.m. at League Stadium in Huntingburg, Ind., after playing in Springfield Tuesday at 7:35 p.m.
