
Bombers Erase Early Deficit, Rally to Win 8-5

The Springfield Sliders (3-10) carried a 3-0 lead through six innings and a 5-3 lead after seven, but the Dubois County Bombers (11-2) still won 8-5.
Bombers catcher Kolin Conner delivered a two-out grand slam in the top of the eighth inning to turn a 5-4 deficit into an 8-5 lead.
Joey McClung earned the win for the Bombers, pitching two and one-third innings of scoreless ball after starter Spencer Sapp allowed five earned runs through six and two-thirds innings.
Nick Capra took the loss for the Sliders.
Springfield held a 3-0 lead through six innings until the Bombers tied it in the top of the seventh. The Sliders responded with two in the bottom of the inning to earn a 5-3 lead until Dubois County exploded with a five-run eighth inning.
The Bombers host the Sliders Wednesday night at 7:15 at League Stadium in Huntingburg, Ind.
