Chico Outlaws News Release

Chico Outlaws star outfielder, Steve Boggs, signed a contract to return to Chico for the upcoming 2009 season. Boggs recently parted from the Major League Baseball's Kansas City Royals' spring training and is ready to get back to playing in Nettleton Stadium.

In 2008 Boggs, the 25-year-old centerfielder, had the most outstanding season of his professional career leading the Outlaws in hits and stolen bases. He had 110 hits and used his speed to steal 27 bases. Boggs was also the key to the Outlaws championship season in 2007 as one of the best outfielders in the Golden Baseball League.

Field Manager, Greg Cadaret, is more than happy to hear of Boggs' return, "I am so pleased and excited to have Steve back for the 2009 season. He has been a vital component to our team and will continue to be one of our best players this season."

Before joining the Outlaws, Boggs played at San Diego State University and then spent three seasons with the Rockies, advancing to the A-level Northwest League before being released.
