Boardwalk Statue Dressed for Playoff Success

Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs are teaming up with our friends at the Louisiana Boardwalk to increase visibility of our 2011 CHL playoff run in the community. For the entirety of our participation in the postseason, the Louisiana Boardwalk is helping cheer us on by adorning the "River Goddess" statue with Mudbugs hockey equipment!
During the ¬ËBugs Opening Round series victory over Arizona, a Mudbugs jersey was placed on the "River Goddess" for the first time since our 2006 run to the President's Cup Finals. With the club now advancing to the second round of the playoffs, which begins tonight vs. Tulsa at the CenturyTel Center, a Mudbugs hockey helmet has now been added to the statue's playoff uniform.
Each time the Mudbugs advance to a new round of the playoffs, a new piece of equipment will be added to the statue. Hopefully by the time the President's Cup Finals begin next month, the River Goddess will be wearing hockey gloves and holding a hockey stick to signify Bossier-Shreveport's advancement to the final round and a chance at the 2011 CHL Championship!
"We are very excited about the increased exposure that comes with being promoted like this to patrons of the Louisiana Boardwalk," said Mudbugs owner Tommy Scott. "We're also thankful to have such a great relationship with the Boardwalk, which is easily one of the premier leisure destinations for people throughout the Ark-La-Tex. Hopefully we'll keep adding to the River Goddess statue and giving our great fans something to cheer about all the way through the middle of May!"
Tonight at 7:05 the Mudbugs meet the Tulsa Oilers in Game 1 of their best-of-five Berry Conference semifinal series at the CenturyTel Center. Game 2 of the series will then follow tomorrow night at the CTC before the teams shift to Tulsa for Game 3 on Tuesday.
