
Bluewaves Win Home Opener

The Jacksonville Bluewaves defeated the Marietta Storm 130-113 in its first home game of the season. The win improves the Bluewaves' record to 3-0 in the team's inaugural season.
The Bluewaves outscored the Storm by 20 points in the second half after trailing 62-59 at halftime. Bluewaves guard, Mike Sturns (Fort Worth, TX), lead the way offensively scoring 31 points. Bluewaves guard, Renaldo Norman (Jacksonville, FL), followed Sturns' effort contributing 26 points of his own toward the win. Five players recorded double digits in scoring for the Bluewaves. Storm guard Lance Perigue led all scorerers with 33 points.
The Bluewaves next game will be at home May 21 against the Florida Flight. Tip off for game is at 7 p.m. in the Edward Waters College gymnasium (1859 Kings Road - 32209). Tickets are on sale now and will be sold on game day at $3 for children ages 5-12, $5 for military and students and $8 for adults.
