BUTLER, PENN. - Illinois State University's Ryan Hutchinson and Emporia State University's Ryan McBroom led a seven-hit offensive attack for the Kokomo Jackrabbits Saturday, June 18.

Hutchinson, starting at third base, went two-for-three with a double and a run scored, while McBroom, playing second base, turned in a two-for-four night for field manager Matt Howard's Gold and Brown. The Jackrabbits plated a single run in the fourth which was all they could muster against another solid opponent pitching performance, as the host Bluesox kept their hold on first place in the Prospect League's Eastern Division with a 5-1 victory at Kelly Auto Park.

After the hosts posted five runs over the first three frames, Kokomo's bullpen came into action with strong results. Butler University's Sam Hubbe, Indiana University - South Bend's Trey Bickel and Indiana University - Southeast's Ryne Underwood combined to shutout the home side on two hits over the final five frames.

The Jackrabbits, sporting a 10-11 record, seek to end a four-game skid Sunday, June 19. They travel to Chillicothe's Veterans Administration Memorial Stadium for a 6:35 p.m. first pitch.
