Blues Shut Down Worcester Bats

Bristol, CT - In their first road game since the All-Star Break, Worcester could not manage to pull out the win in Bristol.

It was Worcester who jumped out early in the top of the first. After a leadoff double from Mariano Ricciardi and a single by Nick Martin, Paul Coumoulos grounded into a double play to score Ricciardi.

An answer for Bristol came quickly in the bottom of the inning. Austin White walked and proceeded to steal second before Christian Beal hit him in with an RBI double to tie the game.

Bristol took the lead in the third inning. Beal was hit by a pitch to start the inning, and stole second base. Zeke Diamond singled and scored Beal to give the Blues their first lead of the night. They quickly added another run in the fourth. After a Danny Roth single, he advanced to second on a wild pitch. After taking third on an Austin white groundout, he scored on another wild pitch.

Another run was added in the fifth inning after a solo home run by Brandon Miller to make the score 4-1.

Worcester got a run in the seventh inning to cut the lead to two. Ben McNeill singled and advanced to second on a Riley Livingston ground out. Pesce grounded to short but an error by Diamond allowed McNeill to score. That would be all Worcester would be able to get across as they fell 4-2.

The Bravehearts return home tomorrow to face the Brockton Rox to start a four game home stretch.
