Kentucky Bluegrass Stallions News Release

The Kentucky Bluegrass Stallions saw an 11-point second half lead disappear and fell to the Dayton Air Strikers 118-112 on January 30 at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym in Georgetown.

Dayton led 30-24 after the first quarter, but the Stallions responded by hitting 18 of their 28 shots (64.3%) in the second period. Kentucky took their biggest lead of the game at 63-55 when Josh Taylor drilled a three-pointer with two seconds left in the half.

The Stallions (4-5) extended their lead to 66-55 when former U of L Cardinal Reggie Delk opened the second half with a three-pointer. But the Air Strikers capitalized on some sloppy play by the Stallions to take a 90-86 lead after three quarters. The Stallions suffered six turnovers during the quarter and were guilty of some defensive breakdowns that helped the Air Strikers shoot 62.5% for the period, including 75% from the three-point line.

Dayton maintained a lead until six straight points by Kentucky tied the score at 106 with 5:48 to play. Dayton (2-6) responded by scoring eight straight points of their own, then held off a Stallion rally to register their second win of the season.

Six Air Strikers scored in double figures, led by Quade Milum's 21 and former UConn Huskie Nathaniel Miles' 19. Milum also led Dayton in rebounds with 10 to register his first double-double of the season.

Kenny Jones led the Stallions with 18 points, while Marcus Thompson and Bo Harris chipped in with 16 and 15 points, respectively.
