Bridgeport Bluefish News Release
The Bridgeport Bluefish announce the release of its 2005 season schedule (the schedule is available for download at www.bridgeportbluefish.com). The team is a charter member of the independent Atlantic League, now in its 8th season. The balanced schedule (70 home games, 70 away) includes an early opening day at home on April 28 vs. the team's cross-Sound rivals, the Long Island Ducks. Other highlights include fireworks every Friday; the popular Sundae Fun Day Run Day on Sunday afternoons, where kids 12 and under can run the bases and get free ice cream after the game; and the always-popular Skyy Dogs, Zooperstars and others.
The Bluefish have a fire in their eyes this year after being shut out of the playoffs in 2004, despite posting the best record in the league. However, the Fish won neither the first- nor second-half crown and were denied a postseason berth. The Lancaster Barnstormers are the new team on the block in the 8-team league. They replace the Pennsylvania Road Warriors.
Season tickets, including mini-plans that start as low as 10 tickets for $50, are on sale now. Flex Books are also available. Each book contains 8 loge box and 2 field box open-ended exchange coupons for seats to any 2005 regular season Bridgeport Bluefish home game. They may be used for 10 different games or all at once. At $79.00, each book offers a $56.00 discount total. In addition, the Bluefish have included a 2-for-1 deal on Playhouse on the Green tickets for the 2004/2005 season, $5 off selected performances at The Klein and other valuable coupons for various area merchants.
The Bridgeport Bluefish Professional Baseball Club, a charter team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, plays its home games at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard, located off Exit 27 of I-95 on the corner of Broad Street and South Frontage Road in Bridgeport. The Bluefish are the winningest team in the seven-year history of the Atlantic League and one of the league leaders in attendance. 2005 season tickets, mini-plans and group outings are available by calling 203-345-4800.
