Bluefish Announce Spring Training Schedule

(Bridgeport, Conn.) - The Bridgeport Bluefish today announced dates and starting times for their 2016 Spring Training schedule. The Bluefish will hold Spring Training in Bridgeport at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard and have also scheduled two special events, including a team meet-and-greet and the second annual Leadoff Luncheon.
"Spring is finally here and that means the official start to our 19th season of Bluefish baseball," says Bluefish General Manager Jamie Toole. "These spring training games and the special events we have scheduled will give all our fans an inside look at what to expect this season."
The Bluefish Spring Training schedule will include five exhibition games, with two contests against the cross-sound rival Long Island Ducks, two against the newest Atlantic League team, the New Britain Bees, and one against the Milford Hunters. Three of those games will be held at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard.
The first exhibition will take place at home on Friday, April 15 against the Long Island Ducks at 12:00 pm. The team will travel to Long Island on Saturday, April 16. On Sunday, April 17, the 'Fish will play a day/night double header against the New Britain Bees with a home game at 12:00 pm and an away game later that evening. Bridgeport will finish their Spring Training schedule with a game against the Milford Hunters at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 19, before heading to Texas to begin the 2016 regular season against the Sugar Land Skeeters on Thursday, April 21.
Any Bluefish fan who would like to get a sneak peek of their hometown team before the regular season begins is welcome to attend. General admission tickets will be issued for any home Spring Training games for just $5. G2-Sport, the new food and beverage service of The Ballpark at Harbor Yard, will be operating concessions during these games. No outside food or beverage will be allowed inside the ballpark.
The second annual Leadoff Luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 14 at Housatonic Community College from 12:00 to 1:30 pm. This event will celebrate the beginning of the 2016 regular season, and guests will have the opportunity to meet the team as all players and coaches will be in attendance and available to sign autographs and take photos with fans. There will also be special items raffled off at the event, including Bluefish experiences, suite nights, and autographed memorabilia. In addition, Linda McMahon, co-founder and former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc., will be the keynote speaker at the event. Tickets cost $45, and a table of ten costs $400. The team will also host a special meet-and-greet at the Connecticut Post Mall in Milford, CT on Friday, April 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Players will be available to sign autographs and take photos with fans. This event is free to attend.
