WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - The BlueClaws scored eight unanswered runs, including five in the eighth inning, to come back and top Hudson Valley 14-8 on Saturday night at Heritage Financial Park.

Jersey Shore broke open an 8-8 game in the top of the eighth inning. Jordan Dissin doubled to start the inning and scored on a balk. Otto Kemp added a triple and scored on a wild pitch to put the BlueClaws up 10-8. Cade Fergus added an RBI triple and William Bergolla a two-run single to cap the five run inning.

Gunner Mayer (1-1) gave up just one hit over 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the win.

Jersey Shore (21-17) snapped a four game skid with the win and improved to 12-4 in May.

Hudson Valley scored three times in the first inning off Braeden Fausnaught, including a two run double from Rafael Flores. The BlueClaws immediately responded with three runs in the second. Leandro Pineda homered, his fourth of the season, for the first run. William Bergolla then tripled in a run and scored on a balk to tie the game.

Jared Serna put Hudson Valley back in front in the third on his seventh home run of the season, and second of the series. They added another on an RBI single from Josh Moylan for a 5-3 lead.

The teams exchanged runs over the next two innings. Jace Avina hit his fourth homer of the year for Hudson Valley, and also his second of the series. Bryan Rincon added an RBI double for Jersey Shore, who trailed 8-6 heading to the sixth inning.

A Hendry Mendez RBI single in the top of the seventh cut the lead to 8-7 and the BlueClaws tied the game when Zach Arnold grounded into a double play as Cade Fergus scored from third. Otto Kemp tripled in the ninth and scored on a wild pitch for a 14-8 lead.

Kemp tripled twice in the game, becoming the seventh BlueClaw to do so and first since Marcus Lee Sang in August of last year. The BlueClaws as a team had four triples, setting a new franchise record.

Kemp and Bergolla each had three hits in the win while Bryan Rincon had two doubles and Pineda had two hits including a home run. Bergolla drove in three.

BlueClaws starter Braeden Fausnaught was charged with eight runs in 4.1 innings. Alex Rao got four outs without allowing a run. Trey Dillard and Benony Robles each threw a scoreless inning to close out the game.

The teams finish their series on Sunday afternoon at 2:05 pm. RHP Starlyn Castillo starts for Jersey Shore.
