Birmingham Barons News Release
The Barons suffered a 10-1 loss to the Blue Wahoos in their first game at Regions Field in the month of May.
The scoring got going in the second inning with a Ray-Patrick Didder home run for Pensacola. Four more runs came in the third inning. J.D. Orr scored on a fielder's choice before Luis Aviles Jr. smacked his sixth homer of the season to bring in three runs.
JJ Muno represented the only Birmingham run on a fielder's choice off the bat of Tyler Neslony. Troy Johnston and Paul McIntosh tag-teamed for two runs in the fourth and two more in the sixth. They did it with back-to-back doubles in each frame. McIntosh finished 4-5 with 4 RBI.
McIntosh rounded out the scoring in the eighth with one of his four runs driven in on a single.
Emilio Vargas (0-1, 6.48) gets the start for Birmingham tomorrow. Eury Perez (2-1, 3.79) will go for Pensacola. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
