July 29, 2013 - New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)
Valley Blue Sox News Release
Holyoke, MA - The battle for the final spot in the 2013 playoffs out of the Western Division is hotter than ever.
With just five games to go in the 2013 regular season for the Blue Sox (18-21) they hold a half game lead over the Saratoga Brigade for fourth place in the division.
The Brigade (18-22) have won two-straight games to put themselves in a position to battle for the final spot and the Blue Sox are trying to hold them off.
With a victory on Tuesday at Mackenzie Stadium for the Blue Sox they would then hold a one and a half game lead over the Brigade but if now they would be a half game behind.
The Blue Sox and Brigade are set to clash for the final time on Tuesday night.
Also it will be Back to School Book Giveaway Night as the first 1,000 children will receive a book sponsored by the Holyoke Literacy Awareness.
First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. with the gates opening at 5:30 p.m.
