Old Orchard Beach, ME - Following a game where the Blue Sox scored 19 runs on 23 hits, they were limited to three runs but that was enough to claim a victory and sweep the season series against the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide winning 3-1.

For Holyoke it sent DJ Brownto the mound on Monday, who had not started for the Blue Sox yet this season, but pitched well enough in his debut to nail down his first win of the summer. Brown went six innings, allowing only two hits, walked two and struck out five in the win.

The starting pitcher for the Raging Tide did not dissapoint either as Matt Croglio went six innings as well striking out nine batters, all swinging, despite that performance he gave up three runs on seven hits which would be enough for Croglio to be tagged with the loss, falling to 0-3 onthe season.

For the first few innings it seemed like both squads could not figure out the opposing pitcher until some aggressive base running by the Blue Sox in the third inning after Alex Glenn reached on a leadoff walk. An error by the first baseman allowed Glenn to get to second base, and then Glenn stole third base for his seventh swiped bag of the season. But a throwing error by the catcher Tim Quinn trying to get Glenn let him come in and score making it 1-0 Holyoke.

The Blue Sox (19-11) would tack on another run in the fourth inning when Matt Tenaglia doubled in Tom Murphy, who doubled to lead off the inning, from third base making it 2-0 Holyoke. Murphy was not done though as he would blast a solo home run in the sixth inning to make it 3-0.

The Raging Tide (7-25)would finally get on the board in the eigth inning as Quinn, with two hits ripped a RBI single into the outfield driving in Billy Berasniewicz, who reached on an infield single, making it 3-1 which would be the final.

Elliot Byers came in the ninth inning to shut the door, but did not do so without some drama as the Raging Tide would get two men on the base pads, but would be unable to drive anybody in as Byers recorded his third save of the season.

Holyoke is back in action tomorrow against the New Bedford Bay Sox with that game starting at 6:30 p.m.
