Blue Sox Add Two to Roster
June 29, 2013 - New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)
Valley Blue Sox News Release
HOLYOKE, MA - The Holyoke Blue Sox, proud members of the NECBL, announced two additions to the roster today, bringing on right-handed pitcher Dan Patrick, a senior from Florida Gulf Coast, and first baseman Sal Annunziata, a junior from Seton Hall.
Patrick compiled a 1-1 record for the Eagles in 2013, appearing in 21 games, including two starts, compiling a 3.57 ERA in 40.1 innings, allowing 34 hits and 16 runs, walking 15 while fanning 30.
"Dan has pitched in this league before, with North Shore when they actually won the whole thing. [He's] obviously a consistent starter, both a starter and a reliever for Florida Gulf Coast, but he'll be a starter for us," manager Darryl Morhardt said of Patrick.
Annunziata played 52 games for the Pirates, starting 51, and hit .319 with 14 doubles and six home runs, adding 36 runs and 38 RBI in the most recent season.
"Sal's gonna hit in the middle of our order...He's been noted as a good power hitter, a good contact guy who doesn't strike out a lot. He's been a cleanup for Seton Hall and in the Cape Cod League," Morhardt said.
Both players will be available for tonight's game at home against the Plymouth Pilgrims, with the opening pitch scheduled for 6:35 PM.
