MARION, OH- The Marion Blue Racers, Central Ohio's ONLY Professional Football Team, is proud to announce that CEO LaMonte Coleman will be the Head Coach for the Marion Blue Racers. Coleman worked with the AFL's Pittsburgh Power as the defensive line coach. Coleman is a Pittsburgh, PA native who was on the Super Bowl XXX Pittsburgh Steelers team.
LaMonte Coleman has played for various teams in the Arena and Indoor leagues. In 2001, Coleman was the Offensive Most Valuable Player for the National Indoor Football League while playing running back for the Johnstown J-Dogs. Coleman rushed for over 1,000 yards and scored 38 times during his MVP season. Notably, he was the starting fullback/linebacker for the Arena Football 2, Wilkes Barre-Scranton Pioneers who were owned by Hall Of Famer Johnny Unitas in 2002. Last season, Coleman worked under Hall of Fame and current Pittsburgh Power Head Coach Derrick Stingley, who notably had the top ranked defense in the AFL.

"With LC, we've got a brilliant football mind, he's likeable, and respected by his players and colleagues in the indoor football world. His ability to move players up to higher leagues will resonate with available free agents. "
Like Sawyer, 2011 Defensive MVP Thomas McKenzie expressed his excitement by saying, "I feel it is great move by the organization, in working with LC for the last couple of years, I know he can take this organization where we need to be."
Since last season, your Marion Blue Racers, have returned to the CIFL for the 2013 season. Kick off for home games are slated at 7:30pm. The season begins in February of 2013. The CIFL schedule will be released this fall.
