Bloomington Blaze News Release

Bloomington Blaze General Manager Jim Riggs has submitted his resignation with the team in order to explore other professional opportunities.

"I want to thank the people of Bloomington & Normal for making me feel so welcome during the past fourteen months in the area," said Jim Riggs. "I have made a number of life-long friends and I would love to remain in the area long-term. I'm disappointed to be leaving the Blaze organization but philosophical differences in the management of the operation led me to this difficult decision."

"I wish the U.S. Cellular Coliseum nothing but the best. John Butler and Bart Rogers are first class operators and they have a wonderful staff that I have had the honor to work with. Moreover, I continue to have the upmost respect for CHL Commissioner Duane Lewis, CHL President Rick Kozuback and everyone associated with the Central Hockey League. Here's wishing the CHL a very successful 2011-12 season."

The new Bloomington Blaze will be playing in the fourteen team Central Hockey League beginning in October, 2011. Bloomington will be in the league's Turner (Northern) Conference along with the Fort Wayne Komets, Dayton Gems, Quad City Mallards, Missouri Mavericks, Rapid City Rush, and Evansville IceMen.

2011-2012 season tickets, group tickets and sponsorships are now available by calling the Blaze at 309-434-2980. Our new offices are located inside the U.S. Cellular Coliseum, located at 101 S. Madison Street in downtown Bloomington. For more information please go to www.bloomingtonblaze.com
