FARGO, ND - Brandon Nutt scored two goals Friday night to lead the Alexandria Blizzard to a 6-0 shutout of the Fargo-Moorhead Jets in a North American Hockey League exhibition game in Fargo.
The rookie from Plano, TX opened the scoring at 6:13 of the first period with a blistering shot to the top corner, leading the way in a dominant Blizzard performance. Jerry Freismuth (shorthanded), Jens Nilsson (powerplay), Jake Stadstad, and Noah Nemgar each had goals for the Blizzard. Ryan Leets and Matt Beggs shared the shutout as Alexandria outshot Fargo 43-27.
The Blizzard managed to kill 11 Jets' powerplays en route to their first exhibition win. The two teams will meet again September 14 in Alexandria.
