
Blizzard beat Jets

(Alexandria, MN) Saturday night, Ryan Hawkins (Eden Prairie, MN) netted a goal and two assists, to help lead the Minnesota Blizzard Junior "A" Hockey team to a 4-3 win over the Fargo-Moorhead Jets. The loss knocked the Jets out of a share of first place, in the NAHL Western Division. Hawkins gave the Blizzard a 1-0 lead, with his team-leading 12th goal, in the opening period. Twice, the Jets rallied to tie, but Minnesota never fell behind in the contest. Josh Frider (Moorhead, MN) and Tony Selvog (Warroad, MN) each scored on the power play for Minnesota. Team Captain Aaron Castle (Roseau, MN) scored the fourth Blizzard goal. With the victory, the Blizzard stands at 16-8-2 on the year, for 34 points in the Western Division, of the NAHL. This puts the Blizzard three points behind division-leading Helena, which knocked off Bismarck Saturday night, 2-1.
The next game for the Blizzard will be in Bismarck Thursday night, December 16th at 7:00 PM.
