April 14, 2007 - arenafootball2 (af2)
Bakersfield Blitz News Release

Down 20-6 early in the game, the Bakersfield Blitz stormed back to take the victory. Tied at 32 going into the fourth quarter, the Bakersfield Blitz turned it on. K Steve Baker kicked a game winning field goal with 0.46 seconds left in the game. It was a heart breaker for the 5,137 fans in attendance at the Toyota Center.

With less than 30 seconds left in the game the Fever had one last chance to win. The Tri-Cities Fever marched down to the Bakersfield Blitz' 2 yard line, with no timeouts left, but that was as far as they got. The Blitz defense stepped up and caused a change of possession after the Fever went for the win on 4th down.

WR JR Thomas for the Fever caught six passes for 114 yards and had a pair of touchdowns for the Fever, but it was not enough to hold Bakersfield QB Chad Elliot and his 5 touchdowns, 3 of which came in the second half. The Blitz also finished with 1 rushing touchdown by WR Deronn Finley.
