Blitz Will Travel to Arkansas to Face the Twisters in the First Round of the 2003 af2 Playoffs

Bakersfield, CA - The Bakersfield Blitz will travel to Little Rock, Arkansas to take on the fourth seeded Arkansas Twisters on Saturday, August 2nd at 7:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. The Blitz finished the regular season with an 8-7-1 record and are seeded fifth in the National Conference, while the Twisters finished the regular season with a 9-7 record. The Twisters and the Blitz are each coming off impressive wins in Week 18. Bakersfield defeated the Hawaiian Islanders by a score of 75-61 and the Twisters knocked off the Birmingham Steeldogs by a score of 41-32.

This is the second consecutive appearance in the post-season for the Blitz and Twisters. Arkansas and Bakersfield squared off in Week 8 of the 2003 regular season at the Centennial Garden, with Arkansas coming out on top 44-37.

If the Blitz win the game versus Arkansas, they would travel to face the top seeded Quad City Steamwheelers (14-2) or the second seeded Tulsa Talons on the weekend of August 8th-10th, depending on the outcome of the Wichita/Hawaii game.
