Bakersfield Blitz News Release

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield Blitz have been assigned QB Dennis Gile (Central Missouri State, '02). Gile is 6'3, 205 lbs.

Gile spent last season with the AFL Arizona Rattlers, backing-up All-Pro AFL QB Sherdrick Bonner. Gile has also played with the AFL Utah Blaze. In addition, he has also had stints with the af2 Green Bay Blizzard and Tulsa Talons.

"We're very excited to get Dennis in here. I know he's talented, he was with Arizona in the AFL last year so we know he can play this game at a high level," said Blitz Head Coach Gary Compton (East Texas State University, '90).

Gile will fill the spot vacated when QB Alex Neist (Minnesota, '00) was traded to the Manchester Wolves on Saturday for OL/DL Brandon Harston (Minnesota, '01). Harston is 6'3, 310 lbs, and is primarily utilized on the offensive side of the ball.

The Blitz will return to the field on Saturday night when they travel to take on the Tri-Cities Fever in Kennewick, WA at 7 p.m.

The 2007 home opener is set for Saturday, April 21 at Rabobank Arena against the Stockton Lightning. Season tickets are going fast, but you can still get yours today by calling 377-2548. Single-game tickets are also on-sale now at the Rabobank Arena and all Ticketmaster outlets. Don't miss out on your chance to see the Blitz live as they make their way toward the ArenaCup!
