Bakersfield Blaze News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - After a slow start, the Bakersfield Blaze have absorbed the wisdom of Manager Ken Griffey Sr. and are beginning to dominate the opposition.
As the team heads into a four-game weekend series - Thursday through Sunday with the Stockton Ports - the Blaze are riding the wave of a five game winning streak, including a just-concluded three-game sweep of the High Desert Mavericks. In addition, former Centennial High School star Dusty Robinson will be returning to Bakersfield as a member of the Oakland Athletics farm club from Stockton, offering fans a chance to see a hometown prospect playing professional baseball.
The weather throughout the weekend is expected to be perfect for baseball, with highs in the 80's and game- time temperatures in the 70's. The team is red hot, Sam Lynn Ballpark is in its finest condition in two decades, and the entertainment value is the best in town, with tickets starting as low as just seven dollars.
Fans are encouraged to attend any (or all) of the upcoming home games and catch the Cincinnati Reds prospects of tomorrow, today. Two members of the 2012 First Half Champion Bakersfield Blaze are already playing in the Big Leagues, and the 2013 crop could be headed there at any moment, including the reigning California League Pitcher of the Week, Jonathan Moscot.
Thursday is a "Tecate Thirsty Thursday" promotional night, where beer is just one dollar from 6:30 to 8:30pm; the following night is "Fireworks Friday" presented by KUZZ; on Saturday night, the first 1,000 fans (arrive early) in attendance will take home a Blaze Camouflage Hat, courtesy of State Farm Agent Darlene Denison; and Sunday morning is another Kids Club Picnic, where members of Torch's Kids Club get into the game absolutely free.
The game on Sunday begins at 11:30am, while all three previous games will start at 7:30pm. Gates open one hour prior to first pitch.

Individual game tickets are available now by calling 661-716-4487 during business hours, going online to the Blaze homepage at any time, or visiting the team at the box office after 5pm at 4009 Chester Avenue.
