
Blaze sign kicker Steve Videtich

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze announce the signing of two-time Kicker of the Year STEVE VIDETICH (6-2, 215, North Carolina State) to a one-year contract. Videtich, who is entering his 11th AFL season, spent the last two seasons with the Columbus Destroyers. Terms of the contract were not disclosed due to team policy.
"Special Teams and the kicking game are two of the most overlooked areas in football," said Blaze head coach and general manager DANNY WHITE. "Kicker is a crucial part of Arena Football and bringing in a kicker of Steve's caliber and ability is a big boost for us. We are excited about what he can bring to the table for us."
The Thomasville, N.C. native has played in 146 regular season games. He has connected on 158-of-319 (49.5%) field goal attempts and 777-of-854 (91.0%) of his PATs. He is currently No. 2 all-time in scoring for a kicker (1,252) and should pass MIKE BLACK (1,254) in the season opener against San Jose at HP Pavilion in San Jose on Saturday, January 28 at 8:30 p.m.
Videtich was a Second-Team All-American for the Wolf Pack and was named All-ACC twice. In 1997 and 2002, he earned Kicker of the Year honors, as well as First-Team All-Arena recognition. He also attended training camp for the NFL's Washington Redskins in 1995.
