TAMPA BAY - The five-time world champion Tampa Bay Storm have signed rookie defensive specialist Lionell Green and offensive/defensive lineman Ben Lynch to two-year contracts while also re-signing offensive/defensive lineman Thaddeus Bullard to a one-year contract, Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum announced today.
Green, a 5-foot-11, 186-pound rookie from the University of North Carolina, played cornerback for the Tar Heels from 2003-2004. While at Chapel Hill the 22-year-old recorded 90 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble and an interception.
Lynch, a 24-year-old rookie from West Virginia University recorded 121 tackles and four sacks in his career at WVU. The 6-4, 300-pound lineman also made the Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll all four years. Lynch was named to the First Team All-Big East by collegefootballnews.com for his play during his senior season.
Bullard, a three-year veteran of the Arena Football League, spent the past two seasons with the Las Vegas Gladiators, recording 44.5 tackles and 3.5 sacks. The 6-4, 275-pound University of Florida standout also caught three passes for 23 yards and one touchdown.
