Blaze Reject Gifts, Fall 4-3

Bakersfield Blaze News Release
Lancaster committed 4 errors, but the Blaze couldn't capitalize, and Bakersfield dropped its 4th straight, 4-3.
A close game from the get-go, Lancaster scored 3 of the team's 4 runs on solo homers, two from first baseman Erik Castro, while Bakersfield got 2 runs in a 5th inning rally, and 1 unearned tally in the 8th.
The game, however, was decided largely on which team would make the final goof. Lancaster kicked 3 grounders and launched a throw into rightfield, while the Blaze made a handful of baserunning mistakes, and when all was said and done, the Jethawks' mistakes were just a little less impactful.
On the topic of standout performances, Lancaster's Erik Castro's 2-homer effort paced either team. Stephen Hunt had a pair of hits, and was robbed of a third on a game-saving catch in the 7th inning. Mark Serrano (L, 3-7) incurred the tough-luck loss despite going 8 innings and allowing just 4 runs on 7 hits.
Andrew Robinson (W, 5-8) allowed 8 hits in 6 innings for the win, and Kirk Clark stranded the tying run at 3rd for his 17th save.
The series continues tomorrow at 7:45pm, with J.C. Sulbaran taking on Lancaster's Jose Cisnero in a battle of hard-throwing righthanders. Listen live online at BakersfieldBlaze.com to all the action, or head out to the park for a DOLLAR MONDAY extravaganza!
