Blaze Re-Sign Bryant, Jones

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze announce the re-signing of defensive back ORSHAWANTE BRYANT (6-0, 191, Portland State) and wide receiver J'SHARLON JONES (5-8, 186, Colorado State). The players agreed to three-year and two-year contracts today, respectively. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed due to team policy.

"These re-signings give us a lot to be excited about for next season," said Blaze head coach and general manager DANNY WHITE. "Orshawante and J'Sharlon were great for us this past season, and we look forward to seeing both of them make big plays in 2008."

Bryant has spent the past two seasons with the Blaze. In 2006, he caught a career-high 90 passes for 1,039 yards, 11 touchdowns and rushed for 75 yards. On defense, he also added two interceptions and 58.0 total tackles. This past season, while playing in only nine games, Bryant recorded 24 receptions for 331 yards and five touchdowns. On defense, he tallied 28.5 total tackles, two pass breakups and a team/career-high five interceptions.

Bryant's career began with the Arizona Rattlers back in 2002.

Jones also spent this past season with the Blaze where he saw action in eight games. In those games, he recorded 18 receptions for 146 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, Jones added 29.0 total tackles, seven pass breakups and one interception. In 2004, he started six games for the Philadelphia Soul where he totaled 21.5 tackles.
