
Blaze Make Roster Changes in Anticipation for Iowa

SALT LAKE CITY -The Utah Blaze announced the signing today of WR/DB Jermaine Carpenter (5-8, 165, Pittsburg State). Terms of the contract were not disclosed due to team policy.
The Blaze also reactivated WR Wendall Williams (5-11, 190, Rhode Island) from the Injured Reserve List and placed WR Chris Francies (6-2, 190, UTEP) on the team suspension list.
Carpenter has spent the time with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL (2005) and the Rio Grande Valley Dorados of the af2 (2007-08). Collegiately, Carpenter played at Pittsburg State where he also participated in track and field.
Williams returns to play after a hamstring injury in Week Five. In his four games with the Blaze, he recorded 20 catches for 227 yards and three touchdowns.
Other transactions this week include activating DL Lauvele Sape (6-2, 280, Utah) from the League Exempt List (CFL) and placing FB/LB Kautai Olevao (6-2, 285, Utah) on re-assignment.
The Blaze visit Des Moines this week to take on the Iowa Barnstormers on Saturday, June 26, with kickoff at 6 p.m. (MT). The following week, the Blaze return home for their second to last home game versus the Milwaukee Iron. Single-game tickets can be purchased through www.ticketmaster.com.
