Blaze Look to Keep Home Winning Streak Alive

The Bloomington Blaze, presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union, carry a four-game home winning streak into this weekend's action as they face the Dayton Gems over three consecutive days.

The Blaze (5-13-2, 7th Turner Conference) host the Gems on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:05 before traveling to Dayton for a 3 p.m. Central rematch at Hara Arena. Dayton (8-9-4, 6th Turner Conference) is led in scoring by Brett Lutes with 27 points (eight goals, 19 assists) and by leading goal-scorer Damien Surma (12). The Blaze are 1-3-0 against the Gems, with the last meeting on November 25 featuring a combined 133 penalty minutes. That contest was also the last home loss for the Blaze.

Bloomington is led by goal- and scoring-leader Jon Booras (nine goals, 13 assists, 22 points), while recent addition Vladimir Nikiforov has scored seven goals and five assists in his seven games with the Blaze. Brodie Sheahan leads the team in assists with 15.

Friday is another Pepsi Date Night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum, when fans who buy a reserved seat ticket when bringing any Pepsi product to the box office receive a second ticket free, and with the purchase of any combo meal, a second meal of equal or lesser value is free. Gates open at 6 p.m. both Friday and Saturday evenings for the 7:05 p.m. face-offs.

Gill Street Sports Bar and Restaurant, 3002 Gill Street in Bloomington, hosts a watch party for each Blaze road game, and fans are invited to watch as the Blaze play in Dayton at 3 p.m. Sunday.
