Bloomington Blaze News Release
The Bloomington Blaze, presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union, attempt to continue their recent success on home ice on Friday in a 7:05 p.m. Central Hockey League battle with one of the Berry Conference leaders, the Tulsa Oilers.
The Oilers (14-8-2) are in third place in a tight race in the CHL's southern division. The Oilers have won three in a row, including two last weekend in Arizona, with their last loss coming in Bloomington on December 10. The Blaze (7-15-2) are coming off their first road win, 4-2 at Quad City, on Tuesday, and have only lost once in December at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in five starts.
Jon Booras leads the Blaze with 12 goals and 27 points, and is on a seven-game point streak with points in 16 of the last 18 games. Brodie Sheahan leads the Blaze in assists with 16. Vladimir Nikiforov has collected a point in nine of his 11 games with the Blaze. Rookie Mark Znutas is third in the CHL in scoring among defensemen with 18 points.
Tulsa is led by Mike Ullrich with 15 goals, and Dylan Clarke with 19 assists and 29 points. The Oilers' Jeff Terminesi leads all CHL defensemen with 22 points.
Friday is Pepsi Date Night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum, when fans who bring a Pepsi product to the box office and buy a reserved seat ticket get a second ticket free. Also, with the purchase of any combo meal, the second meal of equal or lesser value is free. It's also Ugly Sweater Night, when fans are invited to dig into the closets and dressers and wear those sweaters to the game for the chance to win prizes.
