Blast Take a Look at Talent

March 31, 2003 - A-League (A-League)
Indiana Blast News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, IN-The Indiana Blast held their Open Combine last Thursday and Friday at the Lawrence Soccer Complex in Lawrence, IN. There were nearly 70 participants from not only Central Indiana, but from all stretches of the globe.

According to Head Coach Jimmy McDonald, "There was more talent at this Combine than I have ever seen any of the previous years. We will definitely be bringing a couple of the talented individuals we saw into training camp."

With the Blast kicking off their first official practice Wednesday morning, there will be a lingering of 5-6 players that the coaching staff wants to take another look at. "You really don't get a feeling for a player until you see him match up against some of our A-league veterans," said Coach McDonald.

McDonald was rather impressed with the number of Hispanic representatives at the Open Combine.

"Our organization is spending a lot of time this season working with the large Hispanic community in Indianapolis," said Coach McDonald. "We were very glad to see this community well represented at the Combine."
