Blast Show Signs of Life

INDIANAPOLIS- The Indiana Blast (2-10-1, 7 pts) beat the Cincinnati Riverhawks (5-7-0, 15 pts) 3-1 Friday night at Kuntz Stadium. Mark Allen, Godfrey Tenoff, and Jeff Dresser all scored for the Blast as they doubled their win total for the season.

Mark Allen scored the first goal of the match in the 12th minute on a superb header. Semir Mesanovic sent in a dangerous corner kick into the box that found Allen all alone at the near post. Allen nailed his header over the Cincinnati goalkeeper Eric Pattison.

Rodrigo Costa started the next scoring play for the Blast after a nice run down the left sideline. Costa then sent in a cross from inside the penalty area to Godfrey Tenoff, who made a quick move to get by Pattison to make it 2-0.

Cincinnati got on the board after a Blast giveaway in their own third. Andres Murriagui stole the ball and drilled a shot from 20 yards that beat Blast keeper Josh Lynk.

The final goal of the night came off an unbelievable pass from Godfrey Tenoff. Jeff Dresser outran his defender to track down the pass and beat the Riverhawks keeper that sealed the win for the Blast.

The Blast's next home game will be Wednesday, July 2nd against the Cincinnati Riverhawks at 7:35 pm at Kuntz Stadium. Gates open at 6:00pm with pre-game concert with David Michael Carillo.
