December 6, 2005 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
The Saskatoon Blades this morning announced the 2005 Christmas Cheer Line-up for the upcoming December games at Credit Union Centre. The Blades will roll out an entertainment schedule sure to entertain fans as winter closes in and the joys of the Christmas Season begin to set in.
First up is the December 10th game versus the Prince Albert Raiders which sees the team return to Credit Union Centre for the first time in 2 weeks. It is also the first Burger King Whopper of a Win Night of the year where a Blades win will reward all fans in attendance with a Jr. Whopper with Cheese courtesy of Saskatoon Burger King locations, in addition fans can pick up a little extra Christmas Cash as Money Mart will be handing out $50 bills to lucky fans in attendance. The game also marks the return of the Mad Trumpeter Claude Scott to Credit Union Centre for the 1st time in 3 years. The native of Quebec is the consummate entertainer having performed in NHL, MLB and NFL venues throughout the years. Claude promises to entertain fans young and old alike with his unique mix of music and comedic entertainment.
Claude will also be in attendance on December 11th as the Blades play host to the Moose Jaw Warriors at 6pm for Home Depot night. Great prizes are to be won as the Blades look to deliver some season's beatings to the Warriors. The Christmas action continues on Wednesday December 14th as the Red Deer Rebels make their first trip into Saskatoon at 7PM for the annual CTV Tree of Plenty Night. That night fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the game and place it in the specially marked bins in support of the Saskatoon Food Bank. It is also the 1st Budget Car and Truck Rental Raincheck Night of the year where season ticket holders may exchange any unused tickets for tickets to the game for only a $2 donation to the Saskatoon Blades Education Fund.
The Blades Christmas Cheer Campaign wraps up on Saturday November 17th as the Calgary Hitmen visit Credit Union Centre at 7PM for the Annual Global TV Teddy Bear and Toque Toss night. As in years past fans are encouraged to bring a new stuffed animal to the game and when the Blades score their first goal litter the ice with the toys which will be distributed to under privileged children this holiday season. A new twist has been added to this year's event as fans are also invited to toss toques onto the ice at the game. With so many children unable to have good quality winter wear the Blades ask their fans to assist them in keeping Saskatoon Kids cozy this winter.
Seats for all holiday games are available at any ticketmaster outlet, on-line at ticketmaster.ca or by calling 938-7800. Have a group of 10 or more visiting this holiday season? The Blades can help you save some cash with group seats; to purchase your group seats call the Blades ticket team at 975-8844.
