Florida Everblades News Release
Estero, FL - The Florida Everblades announced this afternoon that assistant coach Terry Lindgren will not return to the Everblades for a third season.
"I have enjoyed my time immensely here with the Everblades. I want to thank Craig and Gerry for giving me the opportunity here and all of the fans who were behind me as a player and a coach during my five years with the Everblades organization. My time here has not been a job for me but more like a second home," stated Lindgren who ranks second all time in Florida history with 356 penalty minutes.
Everblades President/GM Craig Brush expressed his gratitude on Friday morning for the job Lindgren has done, "We are all very proud of what Terry has accomplished with the Everblades both as a player and a coach the past five years. We are glad he has chosen to make southwest Florida his permanent home and look forward to seeing Terry and his wife Adrienne at future Everblades games."
Lindgren is in the process of pursuing a career in firefighting and will attend the Fort Myers firefighting academy this summer. Along with head coach Gerry Fleming, the past two seasons Lindgren has helped guide the Everblades to a 72-48-24 regular season record. He also aided in the Everblades 10-7 post season record and Florida's first ever trip to the Kelly Cup Finals this past season. "I am sad to see Terry leave us but at the same time I know he will be very successful as a firefighter. He and I have had a great relationship the past few seasons and we could not have had the success this past year without him. It will be very difficult to replace Terry and all he has done for this organization and hockey team," Blades head coach Gerry Fleming commented on Friday afternoon.
