Blackburn Named UIF Player of the Week

United Indoor Football (UIF) announced today that Storm linebacker Mark Blackburn has been named UIF Defensive Player of the Week. Blackburn recorded 10.5 tackles, one fumble recovery, and one interception which he returned for a touchdown in the Storm's 33-19 victory over the Omaha Beef. The victory marked the 28th consecutive victory for the Storm. Blackburn has played in each of those games.

Blackburn has led the Storm defense to the #1 league ranking in both points allowed (27.1 ppg) and yards allowed (190.1 ypg) per game. The Storm defense has only allowed 28 points in the second half of the last five games. Blackburn also leads the league in tackles with 63.

The Storm will hit the road June 2nd for a rematch with Colorado Ice at the Budweiser Events Center in Fort Collins, CO. The Storm's next home game will be against Sioux City on June 9th. Sioux City will be making its second trip to the "Storm Shelter" this season. Come join the celebration as Blizzard will be celebrating his birthday.
