Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Concluding a stretch of three road games in three days, the Waterloo Black Hawks fell to the Muskegon Lumberjacks 4-2 at Walker Arena Sunday.
The home team turned the game into their favor 41 seconds into the second period. Attempting to make a centering pass, Jordan Masters was left with an open side when the puck boomeranged back his way, and Masters stuffed in the chance to tie the game 1-1. Just 2:02 later, Dakota Klecha notched the first of two goals in the period. The other at 8:11 pushed the Lumberjacks back in front after Tyler Zepeda had tied it on rebound from the crease at 4:16.
Shortly after a successful penalty kill in the first period, the Black Hawks struck for the opening goal of the game. Ryan Papa left the puck at the side of the net for Taylor Cammarata, and his wrist shot to the long side cleared the frame at 7:56.
Muskegon added one more at 16:28 of the third during a five-on-three power play. A shot wide of the goal attempted by Ryan Bullock caromed off the end wall for John Padulo, who flipped it in.
Young Arena is the site of the next Black Hawks game on Saturday. Waterloo meets the Green Bay Gamblers at 7:05. Tickets are on sale now via waterlooblackhawks.com. The first 1,000 fans at the rink will score a 50th season-logoed Black Hawks water bottle, courtesy of American Veterans Plumbing.
