Black Bears Swept In Wenatchee
July 8, 2011 - West Coast League (WCL)
Cowlitz Black Bears News Release
Wenatchee: The Cowlitz Black Bears gave up five runs in the second inning for the third game in a row as Wenatchee asserted their dominance as the best-hitting team in the West Coast League. This time the victim was Kevin Bosson (Cal Poly Pomona), as a three-run home run from Adam Nelubowich did the majority of the damage in the frame.
The Black Bears took the lead for the second consecutive night on an RBI groundout by Matt Giller (Kansas St.) in the second, but would not score again until a last-gasp effort in the ninth inning. The first four Cowlitz hitters reached base, and the team scored three runs to provide the final 7-4 score. At the plate, Brent Graham (LCC) was 3 for 5 from the leadoff spot, Kyle Garlick extended his hitting streak to 13 games with an RBI double in the 9th, and Braxton Miller (Lewis-Clark St.) had two hits for the offense.
Tomorrow at 6:35 pm Myron Noodleman will be at Story Field on Las Rocas Fabulous Friday thanks to Longview Sewing and Beecher-Carlson Insurance. Don't miss a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the "hippest nerd in da biz".
