Black Bears Fight From Five Down, Get Second Straight Comeback Win

Klamath Falls: June 26, 2012: Capped by an Austin Wobrock (Orange Coast) two-run single in the ninth inning, the Black Bears scored seven straight runs for a dramatic 8-6 victory over Klamath Falls Tuesday night.

Wobrock led the way for the Black Bears, registering three hits and three RBI. Brian Frattali (U of Portland) had another big day at the plate, driving in three on two hits and a sac fly. Derrick Salberg (Lower Columbia) and Austin Diemer (Cal State Fullerton) each had multiple hit games as well, with Salberg singling three times.

Taylor Williams (Mt. Hood) was excellent in relief, going five scoreless innings while striking out eight. Kevin Sprague (UC Riverside) pitched a scoreless eighth inning for the win and Koby Gauna (Cal State Fullerton) retired the side in the ninth to record the save, his first of the season.

The Black Bears play the ppd Doubleheader against the Bellingham Bells this Sunday at 5:05 pm After that the Black Bears next home game is against Kitsap on Tuesday, July 5th at 6:35 PM and it will be Azteca $2 Tuesday. There will be $2 general admission tickets, $2 hot dogs, $2 soda. And $2 beer. There will be a Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza presented by Links Four Corners General Store.
