The Bisons picked up another win Monday afternoon with a 5-4 victory over the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers) from Lakeland, FL. Since Friday, the Herd has put together a three-game winning streak to improve their record to 7-1-1 on the spring.
New second baseman Brent Abernathy powered the offense, going 2-4 with a double and two RBI. Designated hitter Corey Smith also doubled and drove in two. Half of Buffalo's 12 hits on the day were two-baggers.
Matt Miller (1-0) got the victory, throwing two shutout innings while striking out three. Joe Winklesas pitched the ninth to pick up his second save.
The Bisons will take on the Richmond Braves (Atlanta Braves) Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at Orlando, FL.
