TODAY'S GAME: This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Charlotte Knights in the third game of a four-game series at Knights Stadium (2:15 p.m.). The Knights won the first two games of the series. Now, Buffalo needs to win two straight to earn a split of the set. The Bisons are now 3-5 on their season-long 10-game roadtrip that has already had stops in Rochester and Gwinnett.
vs. KNIGHTS: The Bisons are 0-2 against the Charlotte Knights this season. The two losses guarantee Charlotte at least a split of the four-game series with the Herd. Buffalo has not won a four-game series at Knights Stadium since taking three of four, May 13-16, 2005.

MVP: OF VALENTINO PASCUCCI hit his team-leading seventh home run of the season last night. It was also Pascucci's 45th career homer in a Bisons uniform. The slugger is now tied Buffalo Baseball Hall of Famer Torey Lovullo for eighth on the team's modern era home run charts. The Bisons Modern Era Home Run King is former infielder and current Chicago White Sox hitting coach, Jeff Manto (79).
NICE RETURN: OF VINNY ROTTINO was activated to the Herd yesterday after being optioned by New York on Friday. The veteran picked up right where he left off, using an RBI-double to extend his hit streak to 15 games. Since the streak began on April 18, Rottino has hit .333 (20-60) with seven extra-base hits and eight RBI. The 15-game streak is the longest active streak in the International League.

Over that five-game streak, each starter has gone at least 6.0 innings and struck out at least five batters while yielding no more than two runs on five hits. Overall, the starters have a 1.67ERA in the last five games.
