DENVER -- Grand Rapids Rampage quarterback Michael Bishop became the first player in the Arena Football League's 19 seasons to record a 100-yard rushing game in the team's 72-56 loss to the Colorado Crush Saturday afternoon in Denver in front of 15,403.

Bishop (6.02 220 lbs. Kansas State) starting in just his third AFL game ran for 100 yards breaking the previous mark set by Major Harris (95 yards) in 1991 with the Columbus Thunderbolts at the Denver Dynamite (July 6, 1991). He broke the record with 17 seconds left in the third quarter when he took off for a 31-yard touchdown. Late in the fourth quarter, Bishop lost three yards near the goal line that took him down to 100. The team's 122 rushing yards (22 from Chris Avery) rank second all-time in league history to the 128 by the Thunderbolts against the Denver Dynamite 20 days after Harris set the previous mark in Columbus (July 26, 1991).

The former Heisman Trophy runner up finished with six rushes for 100 yards and two touchdowns (34 & 31 yards). He passed for 258 yards with four passing scores, two 2-point conversion tosses and one interception.
