Birmingham Steel Release Opening Day Roster

The Birmingham Steel of the Continental Basketball League have announced their opening day roster for the 2010 campaign. Owner/head coach Richard Ashmon made the announcement on Thursday.
The Steel have loaded their roster with six players with professional experience. Five players have played professionally overseas with another having played in the American Basketball Association. The roster has some local talent as well with point guard Josh D'errico having played at Leeds High School.
Ashmon says of his opening day roster, "This is going to be an exciting ball club. We have guys like Tyrus Boswell, Moneya Pratt, Antonio Bright and a few others who have played pro ball overseas. With that experience and knowing what it is like to play pro ball, they are going to be leaders for the Steel."
The Steel open up their season on Saturday May 1st at Leeds High School against the Carolina Cougarz in a 7:00 tip and continue on Sunday May 2nd in a 5:00 tip against the Wilmington Sea Dawgs. For ticket information, go to www.steelbasketball.com.
