MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers, stumbled for the second consecutive night Friday, falling 5-0 to the Winston-Salem Dash at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark.

The starting pitchers on each side were the story of the show, Winston-Salem's Justin Collop for what he did, and Myrtle Beach's Kyle Hendricks for what he didn't. Collop carried a no-hitter through five and two thirds innings, the deepest the Dash have done so this year. He earned his seventh win going seven scoreless. Meanwhile, Hendricks struggled for the first time since his opening start, going only five innings for the first time since April 20th. He allowed a career high 10 hits and five runs, four earned.

The offense for Winston came early and often, with a run in the first and two each in the third and fourth innings. Second baseman Carlos Sanchez led the charge with a triple, two runs and two RBI.

Myrtle Beach got a stellar performance out of the bullpen, putting together four shutout innings. Jimmy Reyes went two innings while striking out a pair. Matt West and Ben Rowen each worked an inningwith a K each.

The Pelicans look for an even series split with the Dash Saturday at 7:05. The game features postgame FIREWORKS! presented by International Paper of Georgetown. For tickets or more information, call 843-918-6000 or visit MyrtleBeachPelicans.com.
