Birch Upped to Director of Ticketing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville Barracudas VP/GM Scott Allerding today announced the Christopher Birch has been promoted to Director of Ticketing for the club.

Birch, a Chicago native, came to the Barracudas on an Internship from the University of Florida where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Sports Management in 2003.

"Chris is a classic case of how you hope it would happen," Allerding said. "He went from an intern to a full-time employee to having one of the biggest responsibilities for the team in ticketing."

The 25-year old Birch, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of ticket sales, managing the database, and helping develop marketing pieces for prospective ticket buyers. He works closely with Sales and Public Relations to develop ticket packages for potential season ticket holders, groups, and corporate accounts.

"He's put in incredible hours and has fantastic dedication," Allerding added.

The Barracudas Home Opening Weekend Celebration is Friday, November 28th at 7:05 at the brand new Veteran's Memorial Arena. Come see the Barracudas battle the Miami Manatees. The JEDC Sports and Entertainment Board sponsor the first sporting event ever in the new Arena. Come out and be a part of history!

On Saturday, November 29th, the Barracudas host the Macon Trax with a special 12:35 afternoon matinee face-off time. Immediately following the game, join the Barracudas and Comcast for the Florida/Florida State Skate from 3-5. Buy a ticket to the game and then be one of the first to skate at the new Arena absolutely free. Also, watch the battle of Florida on the Jumbotron as you skate.
