Bilodeau Suspended 3 Games
Published on October 28, 2018 under Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) News Release
BOUCHERVILLE, QC - The Director of Player Safety of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Ãric Chouinard, suspended Gabriel Bilodeau of the Gatineau Olympiques for 3 games. The suspension was handed out following an incident that occurred on October 26 against the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.
Here is the rationale that led to the decision:
The player at fault propelled himself and hit the opponent directly to the head while his skates were not in contact with the ice surface. This is unacceptable and these are the hits we want to eliminate from the game.
The Director of Player Safety took this decision after having viewed videos of the incident, considered the officials report, spoken to the players and organizations involved and after consulting the Advisory Committee for disciplinary action.
